Precise geolocation is collected solely for event attendance verification at the moment of check-in. Location data is not stored beyond what is necessary for verification and is never sold or shared with advertisers.

3. Usage Data
We collect device identifiers, app interaction data, and performance metrics to improve the Platform.

4. Ratings & Activity
Ratings you submit, events you attend, and DJs you follow are stored to power the Platform's core features.

How We Use Your Information

Account Management
To create and maintain your account, authenticate your identity, and provide you access to the Platform.

Fraud Prevention
To detect and prevent fake ratings, bot activity, and manipulation of DJ scores.

Analytics & Optimization
To improve Platform performance, understand usage patterns, and develop new features.

Communications
To send service-related notifications (e.g., account approval, booking updates). We do not send marketing emails without your consent.

Payment Processing

Payments for premium features are processed through Stripe, a PCI-compliant third-party provider. Rate My DJ does not store full credit card numbers or payment card data on our servers. Your payment information is handled entirely by Stripe under their privacy policy.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers
With trusted vendors (e.g., Firebase/Google, Stripe) who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.

Legal Requirements
When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Public DJ Profiles
Registered DJ stage names and aggregated rating scores are publicly visible within the Platform. Email addresses and private contact information are never made public.

Data Security

All user data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest using Google Cloud infrastructure. We employ industry-standard security practices including authentication controls, access logging, and regular security reviews.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
